Wax applied in between colors. Batik is a step-by-step manufacturing; therefore, a piece of batik cloth requires several different people to process it. These are the step-by-step process of batik tulis (hand-drawn): nyungging (drawing in a piece of paper), njaplak (transferring pictures), nglowong (gluing wax on a cloth), ngiseni (filling motifs on the fabric), nyolet (coloring part of the image), mopok (covering part of the image with wax), ngelir (when the coloring process is done), nglorod (shedding wax in a hot boiling water), ngrentesi (drawing dots as details), nyumri (covering some parts with wax again), nyoja (dipping the cloth with colors), second/third/fourth nglorod (shedding some wax again in a hot boiling water).
